Our client currently has a fleet of forty vehicles based in Scotland. Throughout the year, they receive intermittent demand for extended executive events such as distillery tours and business conferences. This type of hire or reward usually requires a licence from the local authority, however, there is an exception in Scotland.

Wedding car operators in Scotland do not require a licence when their vehicles are being used for carrying passengers under a contract for its exclusive hire for a period of not less 24 hours. This exemption is detailed under section 22 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982.

In addition to providing competitive insurance for their entire fleet for weddings, we offered our client a bespoke one off policy that allows the business to take advantage of these extended coporate events. This minimises costs meaning the client can earn extra income without having to take out an annual policy for special executive events.

The business receives the benefits of a highly competitive wedding car product that they can use for special events at a low fee.
